The much-hyped Nokia N900 handset has finally started shipping, and it seems that Vodafone may be the first to announce it in the UK.
We've contacted all the UK networks, with all of them saying that there's nothing to announce - although O2 said is has 'no plans as yet' to stock it.
However, it seems likely Vodafone will be the first to announce the device, if its forums are anything to go by.
While stopping short of announcing it to the hordes of enquiring fans, the eForum team are constantly asking people to keep an eye on the 'Coming soon' page, which is a big hint the red network might be the first to announce it.
okia's new device has been shown off at Nokia World 2009, but there's definitely a touch of schizophrenia about it.
Is it a smartphone with a desktop-like OS? Or is it a portable PC with telephony options too? Either way, it's a pretty darn good mobile phone, and that's the way we like to see it.

The early thing to note is the device itself, while chunky, is definitely an upgrade on those we've seen before, with the Maemo 5 OS bringing all manner of new and funky applications, graphics and functionality not seen before from Nokia on a mobile.

The chassis is pretty large and chunky to house the 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen and slide out keyboard, with a stand on the back to prop up the phone should you want to watch a movie on the high-res WVGA (800 x 480) screen.

It uses a microUSB port for charging, weirdly has the lock button at the top of the device, and brings with it a 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics, with dual LED flash and a lens cover.

Drag and drop JPEG photos to a folder to automatically resize them for e-mail, web, or presentations with DropResize.Instead of using external software to resize images, one option for Windows XP and above users is the freeware DropResize application. This tool adds an icon to the System Tray area of the Windows Taskbar, allowing you to choose a folder so that when JPEG images are "dropped" into it via Explorer drag-and-drop, they will automatically be resized to the height or width that you specify. You can also choose the JPEG quality for the newly resized photos.
